During Monday night’s thunderstorms in Fernandina Beach, a home was struck by lightning setting it a blaze.  This was home to long time Fernandina Beach resident Joyce Coes (age 81) and her daughter Maggie Lee (age 60). Mrs. Coes and her daughter are currently staying in a nearby hotel.  Mrs. Coes is the sole caretaker of her daughter Maggie, who has suffered from Cerebral Palsy since youth. Maggie is unable to speak or walk and their home many years is a total loss.  If you would like to contribute to the family’s needs and stability during this difficult time, they would be extremely grateful. Mrs. Coes and Maggie will likely relocate to reside with family until issue surrounding their home can be resolved.  Thank you for your thoughts, concern, and donations.
