Charles Albert honored at Veterans’ Memorial Park

The family of Mayor Charles Albert gathered recently at Veterans’ Memorial Park on Atlantic Avenue to honor Mayor Charles Albert by placing a brick in his name.

Captain Mike Doran, U.S. Navy (Ret), chairman of the Veterans Council of Nassau County, led the ceremony. Standing left to right are Mayor Albert’s daughter, Regina; Captain Doran; Mrs. Ernie Albert; and son, Reginald.

Veterans Memorial Park, which stands at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and 11th Street, is administered by the Veterans Council of Nassau County. It provides an opportunity to honor veterans by placing a brick inscribed with the veteran’s name and service information. To obtain a brick to honor someone, pick up an order form in the box on the flag pole at the park.
