Nassau County, Florida, July 24, 2020 – On June 24, 2020, the Board approved a contract with Government Services Group (GSG) to create a CARES Act Expenditure Plan for Nassau County. The County Manager, Assistant County Manager, OMB Director and representatives from GSG have been working diligently with our partner agencies to detail the needs of the County and devise a plan to maximize the available CARES Act funds to support our community through these challenging times.

One of the programs within the CARES Act Expenditure Plan is the Nassau CARES Small Business Recovery Grant.  Another aspect to be considered is the allocation of funds from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC) to Nassau County to be utilized for rent and mortgage assistance.

Prior to the Wednesday, July 29th unveiling of the full Nassau CARES plan, GSG and County Administration feel it is prudent to review this information with the Board and seek direction as to the Nassau CARES Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) program eligibility criteria and options for allocating funding, as well as review the proposed allocation of funds available from the FHFC via the Coronavirus Relief Fund allocation in order to assist with rent and mortgage assistance.

A presentation by GSG will take place on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers located at 96135 Nassau Place, Yulee, FL 32097 (James S. Page Governmental Complex) The meeting is open to the public with limited seating. Additional measures have been established to allow for social distancing. This includes additional seating and video monitors outside of the Board Room.
