Michael D. Godwin, Environmental Health Manager for the Florida Department of Health Baker – Nassau Counties, has provided the following information regarding Covid-19 testing locations for Nassau County residents in response to a query from Fernandina Beach Vice Mayor Len Kreger:

“The FDOH Nassau County Health Department is conducting closed, targeted Point of Collection sites in Fernandina, Yulee, and Callahan for persons under investigation. Testing is being completed for clients falling to priority 1 or 2 categories (CDC priority testing guidelines are attached). This includes healthcare facility workers with symptoms, patients in long-term care facilities with symptoms, patients 65 years and older with symptoms, and first responders with symptoms. FDOH Nassau is also testing some targeted adults with co-morbidities.  All testing is by appointment and requires pre-screening.

“The most unrestricted testing site available to Nassau County residents is in Lot J outside of TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville. Individuals can self-refer to this drive-thru site and can receive testing at no cost. The site operates seven days a week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or until 250 patients have been tested.

“There are three urgent care locations in Nassau County conducting testing, Amelia Urgent Care, Care Spot, and Amelia Express Care. There are possible costs associated with testing at these locations depending on insurance status.  I have attached information on these testing sites which include their criteria and hours.

“Some private providers are ordering testing for their existing patients, using private labs.”
