This seems like a great hire. The Comp Plan/LDC Working Group, which is currently working on input for the Fernandina Beach Comprehensive Plan, is recommending a similar CFO-type position to provide leadership in long-term planning, high-level strategic planning, economic and microeconomic expertise, familiarity with what has worked well or not worked with other municipalities and effective communication skills for communicating with the public and others regarding fiscal and economic issues. These skill sets and qualities are now essential for the successful management of local government.

We welcome Mr. Eyerman with welcome arms, as he is clearly more than qualified. Good luck with your transition. Fernandina Beach certainly could use someone with his expertise on their team.
