Nassau County weather related update

Yesterday afternoon Nassau County advised driving on County beaches (Peters Point south to the State Park) remains suspended as tides are still high. The County will continue to monitor the situation and will determine when they are safe to reopen.

Public Works also reports that the northern gangway at the DeeDee Bartels Boat Ramp has been significantly damaged and will likely be closed for several days for repairs.

As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the County reported that sandbags were still available at the following locations:

  • Yulee Road Department, 86200 Gene Lasserre Blvd., Yulee, FL 32097
  • DeeDee Bartels Boat Ramp, 97177 Pogey Place, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
  • Yulee Ballpark, 86142 Goodbread Rd., Yulee, FL 32097
  • Hilliard Road Department, 37356 Pea Farm Rd., Hilliard, FL 32046

There are currently no employees onsite however the sandbags are in a location accessible to the residents.
