Florida went to “weekly” reports beginning last week. If you go to the old site you will see a button to get the weekly report updated Friday each week. With the lower numbers and the variables in daily reporting caused by weekends and holidays, the old daily report has outlived its utility. A 7 day trend is a much better barometer at this point of how things are progressing.

For perspective, the 7 day average of daily deaths in the entire U.S. is at 419 this morning…….the lowest since March 2020 when the pandemic began.

Time to let the fear go. It no longer serves us.

Maybe DeSantis doesn’t want Floridians to know their state has had over 10% of all new U.S. cases the past two weeks before he terminated daily reports. (Sources: NY TImes and Johns Hopkins University)
