Nassau County Health Department continues to increase numbers of vaccinations administered

Nassau County Insider
February 8, 2021

On Friday, February 5th, 350 individuals received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination at an event held at the Yulee Ballpark/Gymnasium. Included are some photos from that vaccination event. A big thank you to the OMNI Amelia Island Plantation for providing the County with two golf carts to shuttle individuals to/from the parking area to the vaccination site on Friday.

Out of the 975 doses received last week from the State of Florida, 620 doses were administered at a vaccination event held at the Yulee Middle School on Saturday, February 6th. All other doses were administered through appointments at the Nassau County Department of Health and/or Closed Points of Dispensing (PODs).

As of Sunday, February 7th, a total of 10,978 vaccinations have been administered. That includes 8,131 individuals who have received their first dose, as well as 2,847 individuals who have received their second dose. Vaccination information is updated by the State daily and can be located on their website.

The State supplied 975 additional vaccines late last week and a randomized drawing from the wait list was done early last Friday morning. If you are registered through OneNassau utilizing the EventBrite system, please check your email to see if you have received anything. You will use this email to “claim your ticket” and will then be directed to contact Emergency Management at (904) 548-0900 to schedule your appointment. If you do not receive an email, it means that your name was not drawn this this time, however your name will remain on the list for all future drawings until you have received your vaccination.

I received the Pfizer, first of two, vaccine at Yulee Middle School. I was overwhelmed by the efficiency of the entire operation. They could have not been more professional and kind. Kudos to all involved…you are truly a credit to your profession!
