Nassau County Board of Commission proclaims March as National Red Cross Month

Gerald Thomas, Regional CEO for the American Red Cross, Northeast Florida Chapter, accept the Resolution from Commissioner Aaron Bell.

 

At the February 22nd meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2021-025, proclaiming March 2021 as National Red Cross Month.

2021 marks the 140th Anniversary of the American Red Cross and the 107th anniversary of Florida’s first chartered Red Cross Chapter, established in northeast Florida in March 1914. In 202, the North Florida Chapter helped more than 1,500 families affected by home fires or other disasters. Of those, 55 disaster clients resided right here in Nassau County.

Gerald Thomas, Regional CEO for the American Red Cross, Northeast Florida Chapter, was in attendance Monday to accept the Resolution.
