Malia Domingo named as one of Florida’s Outstanding 2017-18 School Volunteers

Ms. Malia Domingo, 11th grader at Yulee High School, was recently named Nassau County’s Youth Volunteer of the Year. The Florida Department of Education announced last week that Malia has been selected as one of Florida’s Outstanding 2017-18 School Volunteers. Malia Domingo volunteers in many facets at Yulee Primary School and has been a valuable resource for the past 6 years. She began volunteering at Yulee Primary School as a 6th grader and earned 350 volunteer hours in that year alone.

During her middle school years, she worked in 4 different kindergarten classrooms assisting students with the Accelerated Reader (AR) program as well as working 1:1 with students with special needs. Malia is a reliable volunteer for school-wide events. During the summer, Malia volunteered her time in our Extended School Year program for students with disabilities.
