This is Walt Sturges. Today Walt is celebrating 44 years with the FBPD. In 2013, Walt retired with 36 years of full time service holding the rank of sergeant, but remained with the FBPD as a police reserve officer. In addition to many years as a police sergeant, Walt served as the FBPD Police Chief from 1991 until 1996.

Today Walt fills in where needed, most often assisting with the Beach Ranger program. Walt, we appreciate your four plus decades of service and hope there will be more to come – only six more to make it 50! Thanks for being a part of the FBPD.

Congrats Walt on your continued service to the City. I believe that in addition to the many responsibilities listed, he also served on the Police/Fire Pension Board for a number of years.

Thank you Walt!
