County Manager Shanea Jones retires

7/3/18 @ 10:00 a.m. – On Monday, July 2, 2018, Shanea Jones retired from her position with Nassau County after fourteen years of service.

Shanea is a lifelong resident of Nassau County who always knew she wanted to serve the County she grew up in. She began working as a student intern for Nassau County while attending Fernandina Beach High School. Upon graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Shanea returned to Nassau County and began employment with the Clerk of Courts.

Shanea commenced work with the Board of County Commissioners in January 2006, and served in various positions throughout her years of employment including Budget Analyst, Budget Coordinator, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, Assistant County Manager, and most recently, County Manager. Shanea demonstrated the highest degree of competency and integrity in all her positions. During her tenure, Shanea made many changes in the daily financial and administrative operations of the County that will serve the County well for many years to come. Shanea will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege to work with her, as well as the residents of Nassau County. We wish Shanea many years of health, happiness and success!
