No matter your age, there are few things that match the excitement of the “first day of school!”  August 12th is the day, 12,500 is the number (of students projected), and excellence is the word for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Florida Department of Education rated the Nassau County School District an A for the 2018-19 school year.  All graded elementary schools are A rated, all high schools are A rated, as well as Fernandina Beach Middle School.  Yulee Middle and Callahan Middle made tremendous gains in the 2018-19 school year and are on their way to an A!

Throughout the summer, school buildings were cleaned, repairs and improvements were made, buses were inspected, new employees were hired, and teachers continued to collaborate and prepare for the coming year.

As we welcome the new school year, we want to take the time to highlight a few things that we don’t want you to miss:

  1. Here comes the bus app
  2. Expect Respect Campaign in all schools
  3. New attendance procedures
  4. Safety Improvements
  5. Back to School Open House Events* (see attached)
  6. Bell Schedule for schools* (see attached)
  7. Fortify Florida app
  8. Mental Health support in every school
  9. Threat Assessment teams in every school
  10. Cafeteria renovation at Fernandina Beach Middle School
  11. Vystar Branch at Fernandina Beach High School
  12. pre-apprenticeship program
  13. Arts Alive partnership

BELL TIMES FOR NASSAU COUNTY SCHOOLS

Working together we will ensure the success of every student and the improvement of our schools.  We Are Nassau!
