The Nassau County Supervisor of Elections has already received more than 3,000 mail ballots representing almost 5 percent of the county’s electorate.  By now you have probably received your sample ballot by mail. If you haven’t voted by mail already, here are some important dates to keep in mind:

OCTOBER 31

Yes, that’s Halloween. But it’s also the deadline for requesting a mail ballot, a convenient option to avoid waiting in line to vote this year with that long ballot.  Ballots may be requested in person, online atwww.VoteNassau.com, by phone, mail, fax, or email question directed to [email protected].  Of course, if you missed the October 9 deadline to register to vote, you are out of luck.  But you can’t say we didn’t remind you earlier!

OCTOBER 26 — NOVEMBER 3

Early voting is available to all registered county voters between the hours of 10 a.m.– 6 p.m. but only at the four sites listed below:

Callahan:  Callahan County Building, 45401 Mickler Street

Fernandina Beach:  Atlantic Recreation Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue

Hilliard:  Hilliard Community Center, 37177 Pecan Street

Yulee:  James S. Page Governmental Complex, 96135 Nassau Place

Remember that regardless of your assigned polling place, you may vote at any early voting site.

NOVEMBER 6– ELECTION DAY

If you choose to vote on Election Day, you must cast your ballot at your assigned polling place. It is against the law to knowingly vote outside of the precinct in which you live.   To find your assigned polling place, read the sample ballot that was mailed to you or visit www.VoteNassau.com.

For answers to all questions involving voting, contact the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections Office, located in the James S. Page Governmental Complex, 96135 Nassau Place, Yulee.  Help is just a phone call (904) 491-7500 or email away ([email protected]).
