Pride Parade, Party and After-Party June 8

Fernandina Beach Pride Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on supporting, connecting and enriching the Nassau County LGBTQ+ community, will hold its fourth annual parade and festival in Central Park on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is presented this year by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

More than 50 parade entries, 100 vendors and 3,000 visitors are expected at this year’s event. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and follow the traditional parade route from Central Park, down Ash Street and over to Centre Street via Second Street, proceeding back along Centre Street to Central Park. The festival will follow at 11 a.m., which, in addition to the “Vendor Village,” will feature seven food trucks, a “Family Fun Zone” with face painting and games, and live music from the Jacksonville-based 7 Street Band.

The Palace Saloon will host the Pride Afterparty (21+) in its outdoor Shipyard from 2-4 p.m.

Pride and homosexual are still sins. You’ve been warned.

Homosexuality is a natural part of the human condition, even if it’s not common. God made us all. The real sin is intolerance and arrogance, and pride in ones’ anachronistic beliefs.

You have such a dismissive reaction to other’s opinions–I wonder who is most intolerant and ignorant? Food for thought.

I have noticed that about his comments. Kind of like most liberals are all about being “inclusive” and “Diverse”; right up to the point when you dare disagree with them.

Interesting a lot to unpack in just a few words.

It is also ironic that somebody who is accusing others of sinful action seems to be promoting a group whose very name is the original and most deadly sin.

You seem to be saying the word of God is anachronistic.

I believe his word is eternal.

I take a back seat to no one in the protection of all people to love who they choose.
Nonetheless, one is not intolerant simply  because they refuse to want drag queens parading around in our city park in front of children.

Because you seem OK with that maybe you also should have run for City Commission. Seems like that is the position of some of those running but not with me!

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
