In a letter sent to all tenants of the south basin of the City Marina dated October 31, 2018, Fernandina Beach City Manager Dale Martin advised that he is recommending award of a contract to remove docks, dredge the basin and replace/realign docks.

If the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) votes to accept Martin’s recommendation at their November 7, 2018 Regular Meeting, Brance Diversified will begin significant work in the marina by the end of November.  In his letter, Martin advised marina tenants that they are “required to remove any and all vessels, all equipment, and any personal property from the marina’s southern basin by no later than 5:00 p.m., November 23, 2018.”

Martin also advised that the boat ramp will remain closed to all operations during the project.

The preliminary work schedule appears below.  Mary Hamburg, City Public Information Officer, will provide further information and updates to local media and social media..

Brance was the lowest of three bids received for this project at $3.2M.  Also included in the statement of work is demolition of the city owned building at 101 N. Front Street, commonly known as the Vuturo Building.
