The Fernandina Beach Police Department has hosted a local Shop with Cops event for the past 16 years. The Wal Mart store on the Island has always been a big part of this event. They open their store to us so that our officers can shop with children from various areas of the community, they set aside special check out lanes and provide decorations and extra gifts for the children. Last week, Store Manager Carolyn Whitecloud donated $1,500.00 to the event on behalf of the Wal Mart stores. This will ensure the first 10 children of the 150 that we host will receive gifts. We appreciate our partnership with Wal Mart and all they do for this event.
