Tour Preservation Homes in Fernandina Beach May 11

Fernandina Main Street is hosting a tour of Preservation Homes in and around our historic district. This opportunity only comes around every two years and the program partners do this to recognize those who help preserve our unique architecture. These amazing structures contribute to the sensitive treatment of our resources and the identity of our community.

Projects throughout the City of Fernandina Beach are eligible, not just properties in the historic districts.

The tour includes examples of fabulous preservation in business and residential structures, including one in-progress so you can witness for yourself the “growing pains” involved.

Tickets are only $20.00 if purchased in advance, and are $25.00 on Saturday, May 11, 2019, the day of the tour. The tour begins at the Train Depot, 102 Centre Street, where you can pick up a map of the properties included in the tour. Tour hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The 2019 Awards will be presented to this year’s winners at a ceremony being held May 9, 2019, at the Florida House Inn.

First Preservation Award Winners 2010

The City of Fernandina Beach hosted the first Preservation Awards in 2010.

-The Germano family for restoration of the Amelia Dream Cars Building on 8th Street.
