Rail crossing improvements, trails on the horizon for Fernandina Beach

Wanda Forrest, Transportation Planning Manager of the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) briefed the Fernandina Beach City Commission at their May 21, 2019 Regular Meeting on projects planned and in the pipeline for the city:

–Amelia Island Parkway Trail from State Road A1A (Fletcher Ave.) to Via Del Rey is scheduled for construction in FY 2022-23 at a cost of $589,696.

–Amelia Island Parkway Trail from Via Del Rey to 14th Street will cost just over a million dollars and is scheduled for construction in FY2023-24.

–Centre Street rail crossing improvements are scheduled for FY2019-20 at a cost of $347,893.

–Ash Street rail crossing improvements are also scheduled for FY2019-20 at a cost of $337,640.
