Fernandina Beach Police Chief Mark Foxworth introduced four recent hires to the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) at the February 15, 2022 FBCC meeting.  He reported that for the first time in many years the Police Department is fully staffed.

Foxworth first introduced the Department’s new Staff Assistant, Agnes White, who serves as records coordinator.  She has an extensive background of experience, most recently serving as Records Manager for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.  She holds a Masters Degree and a Juris Doctor Degree.

Newly hired Sworn Officers include Augustine Passante, who was recruited from New York State, where he worked as a dispatcher and a part time fire fighter.  He was named the 911 Dispatcher of the Year for the work he did during the 9-11 attack.  He graduated from the Jacksonville Police Academy in December.

Jim Laughlin came to Fernandina Beach after 24 years with the Kissimmee Police Department, where as sergeant he served as a supervisor and SWAT Team intelligence officer.  He has also taught at the Police Academy.

Ryan Springer, a Fernandina Beach native, is also a December graduate of the Jacksonville Police Academy.
