New business & building report: March 2018

The Fernandina Observer welcomes the following businesses newly licensed or relicensed to operate in the city of Fernandina Beach last month:

During March 2018, the city surveyed 359 permits, a decrease of 55 from March 2017.  This brought the city $179,835 in fees.  Permits were issued for 12 new buildings. Mechanical (66), Roofing/re-roofing (54), and Electrical (51) accounted for the highest number of permits by category.

Building activity is up for 2018 (1,072) over the number of permits issued for the first quarter of 2017 (980).
