AMELIA ISLAND, FL – Kent Ayer, President of TDK, announced today that leasing is currently underway on an upscale apartment community in Amelia Island. “Vintage Amelia Island combines location and luxury and we expect it to lease quickly. Located in the emerging 14th Street corridor, it is the first multifamily housing to be built in years and will provide residents with a modern, convenient, and comfortable lifestyle,” Ayer said.

The site contains 13 acres of protected wetlands and TDK turned it into an amenity where residents will be able to enjoy the native wildlife and natural beauty. This unique location also provides residents close proximity to the beach, golf on Amelia Island Plantation, and the historic downtown Fernandina Beach shopping district.

Vintage Amelia Island has 13 two- and three-story buildings spread over 23 acres. With 224 units, it offers a variety of floor plans. Units will offer first-class amenities, including 9-foot ceilings, walk-in closets, a full-size washer and dryer, hardwood inspired flooring, ceramic tile bath floors, granite countertops accenting the kitchen and baths, stainless steel appliances, and maple cabinetry.

Vintage Amelia Island will provide residents with an abundance of on-site amenities, including a gated entry; direct access and free-standing garages; a pet park with covered seating; a resort-style pool area, including private cabanas, fire pits, in-pool tanning ledges; bike storage lockers with a repair station; an indoor fitness center; and a clubroom with an elegant pool table and coffee bar.

Florida-based Bell Partners will manage the development in partnership with TDK and has set up a temporary leasing office location at 1016 South 14th Street in Fernandina near the B&B Theatre. With leasing for Vintage Amelia Island underway, first move-ins are planned for this summer with rents ranging from $1,300 to $1,900 per month. Interested parties are also able to receive more information at www.vintageameliaisland.com.

“There is nothing comparable to Vintage Amelia Island in the market and it will attract working professionals not wanting to make the daily commute from Yulee or the Jacksonville area while also appealing to the older demographic not looking for the hassle of home ownership. TDK built Vintage Amelia Island for longevity, and it will be a place that is endearing to the community based on its condo-level finishes and landscape design. We bring a build-and-hold philosophy that benefits our residents because we will retain ownership of Vintage Amelia Island and are vested in the continued success of this apartment community,” Ayer concluded.

TDK is a privately-held three-generation development and construction company with headquarters in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Founded in Kentucky in 1959, TDK builds and develops projects throughout the Southeast and Southwest. Having completed more than 10,000 units, TDK properties are setting a new standard in the multifamily housing industry. Bell Partners is a privately held, vertically integrated apartment investment and management company established in 1976. Focused on high-quality multifamily communities throughout the United States, Bell Partners has nearly 50,000 units under management and is one of the largest apartment renovators in the industry.

Ho Hum, it’s an apartment complex.

This isn’t a news story, it’s an advertisement for a new apartment complex built on our wetlands. Thought this was a newspaper, not an advertising supplement.

Agree Nancy Dickson—an advertisement. What a joke!

My recollection is that this was pitched to the City Commission as low-income housing? Is that wrong?

I meant “affordable” housing.

Everyone that lives on this island lives in close proximity of the beach. As for golf, most people can’t afford to play at the Plantation. And last, all the people I know shop any place except downtown Fernandina. We leave that mostly for the tourist.
Also, there are plenty of negatives that come with this apartment complex such as schools, traffic etc.

Just another housing project to hinder the evacuation of the Island in case of a hurricane. What is wrong with our city and county commissioners? You can’t get across the dang bridge now without traffic backed up a mile or so.

Yes, pitched as affordable housing. More poor judgement by our elected officials. Bought the pitch. Now see what we have…more cars and less trees.

$1300 for a 1 bedroom, $1400 for 2 bedroom and $1800 for a 3 bedroom isn’t affordable. The sales staff said they don’t know where everyone heard that it was affordable housing. We got snookered again.
