Harden has partnered with the Ferreira family for more than 30 years, when Robert P. (Bobby) Ferreira and M.C. (Ceree) Harden III began their insurance careers together. On August 1, 1984, the two decided to join forces to deliver insurance and risk management services to the communities of northeast Florida and incorporated John T. Ferreira Insurance in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

In 2010, Harden acquired John T. Ferreira Insurance but continued to use the John T. Ferreira name, which is synonymous with integrity and community service in Nassau County. With three office locations throughout Florida, Harden decided to merge the company’s branding, stating, “Although our brand in Nassau County has been associated with the Ferreira family throughout our relationship, due to Harden’s scale in the southeast, we believe it’s time to consolidate the Harden brand.”

Harden recognized that while the name on the sign is changing, the Ferreira family continues to contribute to the community’s success, and wanted to honor their dedication to service. Knowing that the Ferreira family has close ties and supports the Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) in Fernandina Beach, Harden decided to partner with insurance carriers to support this nonprofit’s mission and mutually contributed $15,000.00 for NCCOA’s Senior Life Center, which sustained significant damage from Hurricane Irma.

A substantial portion of the building’s interior sustained water damage from rain during the storm, many of the tenants have been displaced, and NCCOA requires additional support before repairs can even begin.

“Throughout Ferreira Insurance’s thirty-three-year partnership with Harden, there is a history of supporting our community, especially in times of great need. I am proud to see this tradition continue with the donation to the Council on Aging TLC for the Senior Life Center recovery fund,” said Ferreira.

Harden would like to thank Philadelphia Insurance, Chubb, Frontline Insurance, Tower Hill Insurance, Assurant, The McGowan Companies, and Ian H. Graham Insurance for their contributions to NCCOA’s hurricane recovery fund. “We appreciate our trading partners’ collaboration in supporting this underserved community and honoring the Ferreira family,” said Kurt Thoresen, Harden’s Director of Trade Relations.
