Throughout its history, the GFWC Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach has addressed national emergencies at the local level by implementing mosquito control to combat contagious diseases and established the Tonsil Clinic at the former home of David Levy Yulee. They have a thriving Little Women’s club for high school young ladies that they mentor to instill in them the spirit of volunteerism within their community. They provide scholarships to senior girls in our local high schools and help support many local organizations including Salvation Army Hope House’s Senior Angel Tree Program and National Alliance Of The Mentally Ill Nassau. They also collaborate nationally with the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership.

Florida Past President Mary Powell thanked the City for recognizing the GFWC’s work over the years and invited all to attend their 100th Year celebration on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 3:00 PM 6:00 PM at their club house on Jean Lafitte Drive.
