Friends of Bosque Bello update

Bosque Bello is the cemetery of the city of Fernandina Beach and is located adjacent to Old Town Fernandina on North 14th Street.

Work on the proposed Columbarium is progressing.  Nan Voit (Head of the Parks & Recreation Department in the city of Fernandina Beach) and the Columbarium Steering Committee pounded stakes in the ground to outline the site location.  Eric Bartelt met with that group and shared valuable input on differing columbarium designs.  Enthusiasm built when local architect John Cotner kindly provided conceptual drawings of a columbarium within the staked area.  Look for more information in the coming months!

Fun fact: Bosque Bello (Bah-skay Beh-yoh) is thought to have been founded by the Spanish in 1798. Take this opportunity to work on your Spanish and impress your friends.

Volunteer Opportunity: We need a website! A domain name (bosquebello.org) has already been created but we need someone to build a site for us. If you are interested in helping with this please contact us at [email protected]
