This week’s employee spotlight is on School Resource Officer Jason Hepler. Jason has been with the FBPD for almost 18 years and is currently assigned as the Resource Officer at the Fernandina Beach Middle School. During his career he has also worked in Patrol, Narcotics Investigations and Evidence. Fun fact, Jason’s twin brother Jon, is a sergeant with the FBPD.
Getting to know Jason:
Do you have any hobbies? I enjoy the challenge of a board game or video game.
Are an introvert or extrovert? I am actually an Omnivert, depending on the situation, I can be an introvert or move into the role of an extrovert.
Do you have a person you would consider your hero? I have a few heroes…My mother for loving me, sharing her work ethics, and never giving up on me. My father for sharing his knowledge with mechanics, building and problem solving. My uncles and aunts for spending their time with me and my siblings.
Where were you born? Duuuvaall – I was born and raised in the Panama Park area of Jacksonville, lived a few years in Palm Beach County and have lived in Nassau County since 2004.
What is the best part of your job? As a police officer and especially as a school resource officer, it is rewarding to see and hear that someone has excelled in a positive way after our paths have crossed.
