Fernandina Beach Police Department “Spotlight” on Danny Young

Fernandina Beach Police Department

April 8, 2022

This week’s employee spotlight is on Systems Administrator Danny Young. Danny has been with the FBPD for almost 11 years and handles all of our IT issues. Prior to coming to the FBPD Danny was an Assistant IT Manager at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and before that he was the System Administrator at Amelia Island Plantation. Danny is the guy who makes sure our officers have the technology they need to do their job and it is up to him to keep everything technology related up and running – he does a great job!
Getting to know Danny:
Do you have any hobbies? I enjoy photography. There is something about capturing just the right image at just the right time and to know that the image is now frozen in time. I especially enjoy taking photos of beaches, downtown and candid photos to capture the raw emotions of that moment in time.
What is your dream car? I would love to have a 1963 split window Corvette. That was the year the second generation of Corvettes came out and I really like that era of the body style.
What is your dream vacation? I would love to spend a few weeks in Hawaii. I am a newlywed so it would certainly include having my wife with me while our children stayed behind with family.
Do you have a favorite movie? Without a doubt, Top Gun. It came out when I was a teen and I enjoyed the action, drama and human emotion.
Where were you born? Like many around here, I was born in Jacksonville but migrated to Nassau County as a child and attended FBHS. I’ve lived in Nassau County most of my life.
