Fernandina Beach Police celebrates three officers with 13 years of service

Officer Shane Gothard, Officer Jorge Hernandez, Chief Mark Foxworth.

This week these three guys are each celebrating 13 years with the FBPD.

Officer Shane Gothard graduated from West Nassau High School and worked a for a power company before attending the police academy and joining the FBPD. He is currently assigned to the evening shift as a Community Problem Response Officer.

Jorge Hermandez,  served a full career in the US Navy. Upon retirement Jorge competed the police academy and joined the FBPD. Officer Hernandez currently works the day shift in patrol.

Chief Foxworth retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 2000 and later served as the Chief of Police at the University of North Florida before joining the FBPD. While he has only been the FBPD Chief for seven months, he spent most of his time at the FBPD as the deputy chief.

Congratulations to each of you on your 13th year of service to the Fernandina Beach community. We hope you all have many more successful years ahead of you, except Chief Foxworth, too many more years and well you know….
