Fernandina Beach City Manager Dale Martin wasted no time in carrying out a directive levied on him during the January 18, 2022 Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Special Meeting.  The Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) in its role as CRA directed the City Manager to renew talks with owners of the Simmons-O’Steen property along North Front Street in an attempt to come to agreement on a way for the City to extend the seawall/riverfront walk and widen Front Street with cooperation from the property owners.  Martin sent the letter below on January 21, 2022.

Again Suanne,
Thanks so much for keeping us informed. These are important issues for Fernandina Beach – particularly the protection of the waterfront.
And thanks for the map and pics of the Historic District expansion!
Regards, R.S.
