Dredgng operations in the city marina’s south basin are more than 80 percent completed. Replacement docks for the southern attenuator are under construction. With the 408 process (permit) for the northern attenuator now approved by the Army Corps of Engineers, the city is coordinating with FEMA to review the design and the $2,750,000 cost estimate.
This has been fascinating to watch. I am curious as to how the 80% benchmark (and subsequent completion) is determined. Is there a contracted tonnage that is to be removed or a certain depth that must be created? How are the quantitatives confirmed?
