City Proclamations in the age of Covid

Fernandina Beach Mayor John Miller

The City of Fernandina Beach issued three proclamations during their June 16, 2020 Regular Meeting.  But owing to complications for public gatherings during Covid-19 times, public presentations to groups or individuals have been difficult.  Mayor John Miller read each into the record.

  • “National Flag Day” proclaimed for June 14, 2020 and “National Flag Week” proclaimed for June 14-20, 2020;
  • The City proclaimed the month of June 2020 as “Pride Month” in recognition of progress toward equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual (L,G,B, Q, I, A) people;
  • The City recognized the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) Eight Flags Charter Chapter for their contributions to the betterment of working women and women business owners within Fernandina Beach and Nassau County.
