This week’s Employee Spotlight is on Sergeant Matt Bowen. Sergeant Bowen started with the FBPD in 1999 and spent many years working in the DEA Narcotics Task Force. He is currently assigned as the supervisor of the Investigations Bureau where he manages the day-to-day operations of our detectives, school resource officers, evidence section and joint task force operations. He has the honorable distinction of being the senior sergeant in the FBPD, having been promoted in 2006.
Getting to know Sergeant Bowen:
Where were you born? I’m a North Florida guy, born and raised in Jacksonville before being drawn to Fernandina Beach.
Are you partial to Androids or iPhones? I am partial to the iPhone, never really like the Android platform.
What is your favorite food? I love Italian food.
If you could meet anyone, who would it be? Definitely Abraham Lincoln, I’d really like to hear about the challenges he faced in trying to hold the country together.
