Theatre Jacksonville presents: “The Sweet Delilah Swim Club” beginning April 22

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Mar. 31, 2022) – Beginning April 22, Theatre Jacksonville presents The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, a touching comedy about five unforgettable women and their forever friendships. Set at the “Sweet Delilah” beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, the story unfolds across 33 years and four of the reunion weekends where these former swim team buddies have been gathering for most of their adult lives.

            “Theatre Jacksonville is excited to present The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, and we can all relate to the choices and challenges that these women face that lie at the heart of this popular comedy,” said Executive Director Sarah Boone. “Their lifelong friendships, diverse personalities, and hilarious experiences with men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging make for a delightful story. And when fate throws a wrench into one of their lives, it takes a surprising and poignant direction.”

            Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten and directed by Amy Love, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will run from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, May 8. The cast includes Beth Butler Lambert, Sommer Farhat, Zonnetta Marie, Sandy Spurney and Gloria Ware. Evening shows begin at 7:30, with two Sunday matinees offered on May 1 and 8 at 2 p.m. Theatre Jacksonville maintains recommended COVID safety protocols to protect cast, crew and audience members, including mask-wearing and reduced lobby time.
