Suzanne Batchelor is a contemporary realism artist who has been painting for the past 15 of her 22 years on Amelia Island and was member of the Blue Door Artist Studios until 2020. After establishing her company as “Amelia Island Artist”, she’s followed the path of self-study of classical art techniques since taking an oil painting workshop in 2010. She also hosts an international networking study group of still life artists.

Her eclectic work ranges from still life and figurative to animals, wildlife and landscapes. Her still-life ideas were born from the memories observing light in Dutch cafes where she attended high school. It’s the light you see in a Vermeer painting. “Those memories have stayed with me and found a way into my art today.” Follow her work at: http://www.ameliaislandartist.com
