Help support Museum archives work

January 22, 2019 2:00 p.m.

For lovers of old objects and photographs, the joy comes more from the story behind the object or photo than from the actual thing. Tea and Tell will be the community’s opportunity to share an old object or photo and the story it embodies with others as we sip hot tea and munch homemade cookies. The atmosphere will be casual and homey. The theme of our first Tea and Tell is: FAMILY. Proceeds of Tea and Tell will be used to purchase specialized archiving materials.

WANT TO SHARE: Reserve a “Tell Time” by contacting Jayne Nasrallah, Archivist [email protected]. You will have the opportunity to share your object or photo and a 5-10 minute story of the family member it represents with the group. “Tell Times” will be strictly limited to no more than 10 minutes. Photos and objects need not relate to Amelia Island.

WANT TO LISTEN: Reservations for tea and the pleasure of seeing these memorable objects and photos and hearing these stories would be appreciated but are not necessary. Contact Jayne as above. Upcoming themes may include: YOU NEVER SAW ONE OF THESE BEFORE; EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY; and FOUND IN THE HOPE CHEST.
