Editor’s Note: Stephen H. Mintz, MD is a retired pediatrician, and a long-time “snow bird” from Syracuse, New York.  Although this photo was  taken in New York, mask litter is a common sight in our community.  Perhaps the masks are  proliferating like “kudzu” because no one wants to pick them up! People are to irresponsible to use mask, plastic bag, plastic containers, cigarettes and pretty much most convenient items. You can see litter everywhere and people don’t care. Very little action is taken. I kids will have to pick up after us for along time.
