During December 2014, the city surveyed 214 building permits with a total valuation of $3.8M. This activity brought in $149K in fees for the city. Permits were issued for 9 new buildings. Permit activity was up in comparison to December 2013, when the city surveyed 192 permits, resulting in $109K in permit revenue.
Total activity for 2014 was down in comparison with 2013. In 2013, 2,891 total permits were surveyed, bringing in city revenue of $1.62M; while in 2014, 2,722 permits were surveyed, bringing the city $1.55M in permit fees. New building construction remained virtually the same, with 81 such permits issued in 2014, one more than 2013.

Would be interested in an article regarding the impact of three subdivisions currently marketing single family homes on the island. There is one on Sadler Road,
one on S 14th and one on Parkway with also entrance from Bailey Road.
I can’t recall their names, but they appears to be lots of homes in all three.
Would be interesting to know total units in those subdivisions, impact of all homes sold and occupied. Seems that if all become residences this would impact the number of cars on our island, as most households have at least 2 vehicles.
The impact of that population could affect our one access to depart the island in an emergency.
