The Tropical Storm Warning has been cancelled for Coastal Camden, Coastal Duval, Coastal Flagler, Coastal Glynn, Coastal Nassau, Coastal St. Johns, Eastern Clay, Eastern Putnam, Inland Camden, Inland Flagler, Inland Glynn, Inland St. Johns, South Central Duval, and Trout River

CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:

A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for Coastal Camden, Coastal Duval, Coastal Flagler, Coastal Glynn, Coastal Nassau, Coastal St. Johns, Eastern Clay, Eastern Putnam, Inland St. Johns, and South Central Duval

SITUATION OVERVIEW

Ian continues as a hurricane over the Georgia Atlantic waters, and is moving northward towards the Carolinas. Ian is expected to remain a hurricane as it treks through the Atlantic waters making landfall along the Carolinas coast later today.

Tropical Storm and Hurricane warnings remain in effect over the coastal waters through this afternoon. Coastal impacts will continue into this weekend with high risk of rip currents, beach erosion and high surf and seas.

EVACUATIONS:

Do not enter evacuated areas until officials have given the all clear to return.

OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:

If you are prone to flooding or in an area under a storm surge warning, be prepared for the possibility of a quick and dramatic rise in water levels.

…HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT…

* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 13 feet. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

so disappointed in what you have done to destroy a great on line vehicle for amelia Island news especially when I am not on the Island and can not receive the News Leader. What is your goal for Observer? Why did you think people would advertise or want take time to read nothing? In purchasing an established in line newspaper, you must have lots of $$ to squander
