City NewsFernandina Beach Police Department raises money for Special Olympics Posted on April 23, 2022April 22, 2022 by Press Release Fernandina Beach Police Department April 23. 2022 We were honored to have been able to participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run earlier today. Friends and members of the FBPD carried the torch from Seaside Park to the Publix at the Island Walk Shopping Center. Participants were welcomed by the Fernandina Beach High School Marching Band (great job with the music), the Fernandina Beach Fire Department and employees from Publix. The event raises funds and awareness for the Special Olympics. This year Florida law enforcement agencies are looking to raise over $100,000.00 to support the program.
