Barnabas Center Board of Directors welcomed new and old members at their Annual Board Retreat in March. This retreat consisted of focused and guided conversations about Nassau County’s needs and how Barnabas will continue to grow and evolve services and programs. New board members welcomed were Wayne McLellan, Jim DuCharme, Larae Brown, and Omar Diaz-Siaca.

Wayne McLellan is a returning board member, previously serving as Treasurer. Wayne is currently the Director of Finance, at the Omni Amelia Island Resort. Jim DuCharme is now retired but previously was President and Chief Executive Officer, leading Prime Therapeutics-Total Drug Cost Management Solutions. Dr. LaRae Brown is an Attending Physician at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. She serves in several leadership positions and roles for Women’s Health throughout the UF Health System. Omar Diaz Siaca is a Maintenance Analyst, Maintenance and Reliability Systems administrator, Scheduler, Stores and Continuous Improvement Group Leader at Rayonier Advanced Materials. Rayonier Advanced Materials has been a long-time supporter of Barnabas Center and programs.

“The Barnabas board is an exceptional group of volunteer leaders — their wisdom, experience, teamwork, and dedication to the mission helps to strengthen all our programs. Our newest board members add to a strong foundation of talent serving Barnabas. I am honored to lead this group and look forward to working with the Board to serve the Nassau County community through this wonderful and much-needed organization” said Board Chair Janet Pfeffer. The Board of Directors are tasked with supporting the mission of Barnabas Center and serve as an ambassador for the organization within our community. Barnabas is Nassau County’s only comprehensive service center to help our neighbors in crisis, so they can become healthy, productive citizens. Through our partnerships, we reach even more people and maximize resources. We address critical issues facing our community, such as hunger, affordable health care, and prevention of homelessness.

Our mission is to provide help and hope to individuals and families in need throughout Nassau County to improve their stability, health and well-being. Our vision is every individual has an opportunity to lead a healthy and productive life, thereby strengthening our entire community.
