FBCC Dog of the Month: Apollo

Some think “Greek god” when they hear the name Apollo.  Others think of an Olympic speed skater.  But our own local Apollo, a 2 year-old mixed breed, visited the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) during their April 5, 2022 meeting in search of a forever home.

Rescued from another shelter, Apollo is a friendly, loving fellow.  He rides well in the car and almost always wears a big smile. He recently did a meet-and-greet tour of downtown Fernandina Beach, and wanted to say hello to everyone he saw, wagging his tail the whole time! He’s alert and intelligent, and he’s treat-motivated, which is great for training; he’ll sit for a treat and follow commands. The Humane Society believes he’d do best with an active owner who can handle a large, happy dog.

If you already have a dog, please bring yours over to the shelter for a meet-and-greet! Apollo has a handsome blue and white coat, and he’s already neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots. Please come meet Apollo and let his personality win you over!

Please visit the Nassau Humane Society website to learn more about Apollo and other dogs needing adoption.  Or visit the shelter at 639 Airport Road, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034.  For questions or additional information call (904)-321-1647.
