The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open in historic downtown Saturday, and the Wildlight Market Place will also be open near I95, in Nassau County, in the new Wildlight community.
In Fernandina Beach, North Seventh Street will be home to nearly 40 tents of seasonal produce, fresh-baked breads and more. This week we are featuring King of Guacamole where the guacamole is so fresh you can watch it being made on-site. They also have pineapple, traditional, and salsa Verde. For a real twist try their shrimp and mango salad, or the fresh ceviche. Another vendor you may be familiar with is Bark ‘N Bake. But, did you know Bark ‘N Bake offers a variety of treats made from organic ingredients, avoiding pesticides and additives? Apples, bananas, blueberries, carrots, green beans, honey, kale, peanut butter, pumpkin, and spinach are just some of the ingredients used in their delicious organic treats! Seashore Terrariums is a fairly new vendor that specializes in creating unique glass terrariums consisting of air plants, sand, and seashells. They come in several different sizes and shapes and Greg McKinley works hard to create lifelike scenes that beach folks can relate to. Air plants require minimal maintenance which makes them virtually carefree.
Another fairly new vendor is Jo’s Macs and More. This is a Cottage Food Bakery specializing in macarons, meringue kisses, and a variety of other treats. Our newest vendor, CJs Kettle Corn and More, will be bringing popcorn flavors like original sweet and salty kettle korn, sweet Cajun spice, caramel, and cheddar cheese just to name a few. We hope you visit these new vendors, as well as our weekly regulars who have been with us for years, and show them how Fernandina Beach supports small business. While you are downtown, be sure to visit our fine shops, fantastic restaurants, and amazing art galleries and museums. You can enjoy a stroll with your favorite four legged friend and enjoy live music by Dylan Bailey. Fernandina Beach truly is a very special place.
The Wildlight Market Place, 123 Tinker Street, offers food truck, arts and craft booths, and specialty foods. You will find paintings, jewelry, dog collars and leashes, quilts, cups, wood working and more. Food vendors include Trader Hill Farms, honey from the St. Mary’s Bee Ranch, locally roasted coffee, Breakable Hearts, Ferra’s Bakery and more. This market is on flat ground, easy to locate, and offers public restrooms after 10:00 am.
