We would like to formally introduce our newest police officer, James “Jim” Loughlin. Jim came to Fernandina Beach after retiring from the Kissimmee Police Department with 24 years of service. For 18 years, Jim served as a sergeant, supervising officers in Patrol, Traffic and the K-9 Unit. As a collateral duty, he was the SWAT Intelligence Officer.

Jim holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and has been a law enforcement instructor since 2011.

As a bonus to moving to the area, Jim is a history buff and is excited about exploring the history of Fernandina Beach.

If you see Jim out and about, say hello, welcome him to the area and wish him well.

Welcome Officer Loughlin to Fernandina Beach. We know you will enjoy it here compared to Mickey Mouse land and your skills will be a nice addition to the force. Enjoy.
