Nassau County carpet binding business seeks to help homeowners reduce waste and lessen environmental impact while helping them make the most out of their flooring investments.

Often when new carpet is installed in homes and businesses, there are leftover pieces that unfortunately get thrown away or collect dust in the attic. Many remnants are the perfect size to be made into rugs! These area rugs and mats will in turn protect the new flooring that was installed and extend it’s usable life, while also eliminating the need to purchase additional entry rugs and runners. Residents may also have existing rugs that have suffered minor damages or are not an ideal size for their space. With a variety of skilled carpet cutting and binding services, Creative Edge can make repairs and make the rugs beautiful and functional again.

“Before and After”

Creative Edge specializes in
● Turning leftover carpet remnants into functional rugs
● Rug repair or resizing
● Fringe replacement
● Custom rug fitting (i.e. stair runners, RV’s and boats) ● Polyester binding, cotton serging tape, or wide fabric tape.

Alexis Buchanan, a local student for architecture and construction design technology, started Creative Edge in 2021. She learned the trade of carpet binding while training and working as an upholstery seamstress at Rowland’s Upholstery. As an environmentally conscious citizen, she was immediately struck by the concept of creative reuse, and excited by its potential impact on the amount of waste sent to the landfill. Alexis started Creative Edge to directly address the problem of carpet waste in our small community.
