City receives first-ever Growth Award from Tree City USA and appreciates the assistance of the Nassau County Property Appraiser’s Office

On Florida Arbor Day, January 21, 2022, the City’s Planning and Conservation team along with the Parks Department and the Florida Forest Service- Jacksonville District, gathered at Egans Creek Park for a tree planting. Three of the seven trees were dedicated to staff of the Nassau County Property Appraiser’s office in a show of appreciation for their assistance in getting the City’s first ever Growth Award from Tree City USA: William Fontanez, Kathy Mulcahy, and Len Pearlstine.

Kudos to the City Planning & Conservation Dept. and to the Property Appraiser’s Office for their efforts to complete the City and Amelia Island canopy coverage study and for improving potential wetlands identification. Len Pearlstein is an ATC volunteer.
