St. Mary’s Bee Ranch is one of the many vendors at the Fernandina Market Place. Their offerings include honey, honey comb, beeswax, and bee pollen.

January 29th is the fifth Saturday of the month and that means there will be a farmers’ market in historic, downtown. From 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the Fernandina Beach Market Place will be hosting nearly 40 booths of seasonal produce, seafood, meats, and so much more. Look for our newest vendor, Seashore Terrariums. They have the sweetest arrangements of air plants in glass terrariums. Also, fairly new to the farmers market is Chef Bill Thompson, a former Ritz Carlton chef. Chef Thompson brings a delicious variety of soups and chowders to the market, baguettes, pimento cheese, and an amazing quinoa salad.

Returning to the Market Place this week will be Jay’s Marketplace and their chopped olive salad, King’s Kountry Produce with their homegrown seasonal strawberries that are harvested from their farm in Starke, Florida, and Jo’s Macs and More with a new selection of cake pops and macaroons. Other occasional vendors include St. Mary’s Bee Ranch and their honey, honey comb, beeswax, and bee pollen; Riverwood Candles and their soy candles made with wooden wicks in a variety of island-inspired scents; and Lizzie’s Cheese Straws, a Southern cracker-like stick in classic, cheddar habanero, pimento, and white cheddar and rosemary.

Grab your coat and enjoy a winter morning in the fresh air smelling the delights of African Love Kitchen, and Seven Trees Nursery’s blooming baskets and succulents. We also have hot sauces, rubs, flavored sea salts, elderberry syrup, unbelievable bakeries like Ferra’s and Great Harvest, and Bark-N-Bake dog treats, too. There is something for everyone including gluten-free and vegan. Please join us on North Seventh Street, rain or shine, where your well-behaved pets are always welcome. Weather permitting, Light the Moon, will be performing live music to help set the ambiance of what many call, “Florida’s friendliest farmers market”. For more information, please find us on Facebook.
