This week’s FBPD Employee Spotlight is on Captain David Bishop. Captain Bishop started his career with the City of Fernandina Beach in 1985 working first at the Airport and then at Animal Control. On January 10, 1990, he started his police career with the City as a police officer assigned to the Patrol Division. He currently manages the Operations Bureau which includes, Patrol, Beach Rangers and Special Events.
Getting to know Captain Bishop:
Do you have any hobbies? I am a licensed pilot and scuba diving instructor. I love to fly and dive. Recently I started operating a drone.
What is your dream car? 1977 Pontiac Trans Am – I guess I was influenced a little by Smoky and the Bandit.
What is your dream vacation? I would love to go RVing through Montana and Wyoming.
What is you favorite music group? Chicago. It would be great to be listening to them while driving a 1977 T-top Pontiac Trans Am.
