City police gather around Igor who is is ready for adoption!

A few years back, the Fernandina Beach Police Department partnered with the Nassau Humane Society to help increase the exposure for dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted. We usually highlight several animals awaiting adoption but this evening the staff was busy stuffing stockings and wrapping presents. So instead, we all posed with just one of the dogs available for adoption – Igor.

Igor is a 3-year-old, 70-pound American Pit Bull Mix who is very friendly. He seems to be housebroken, loves kids and was not phased by the cats in the shelter lobby. Igor takes treats gently, enjoys car rides, but needs a little bit of leash work. He is heartworm positive but NHS will cover the costs for his treatment. His coat coloring is fawn and white, and he has sweet, soulful brown eyes with a touch of natural mascara. He is available for pre-adoption and is currently waiting for his appointment to be neutered (no one has told him yet). When he goes home with that special person, he will be microchipped and up to date on his shots. Igor’s a special guy — please stop by the Nassau Humane Society and pay him a visit.
