Wild Amelia is pleased to announce the availability of its 2022 Nature Calendar. Again this year, the calendar, consisting of 13 nature photographs submitted during the 2021 photo contest, can be downloaded free of charge from the Wild Amelia website (wildamelia.org).

Please note the calendar in its original PDF format may be printed or shared with others in its entirety. However, the file may not be edited and individual photographs may not be used for other purposes without the express permission of the respective photographers.

Additionally, the Wild Amelia board has authorized a new photography project for next year in lieu of the annual photo contest. Named “Views You Can Choose,” the purpose of the new activity is two-fold. First, submissions will include more than just nature photos. They will also include the story behind the pictures, where and when they were taken and fun facts about the subjects. Second, this information, searchable by subject, location and date, will give residents and visitors a better idea when and where they might see specific animal and plant life. Photographers of all skill levels can submit an unlimited number of photographs throughout the year.

The best photograph each month, in terms of content and technical quality, will be acknowledged via social media and published in the 2023 nature calendar. More detailed information will be provided when the website goes live right after the first of year.

Wild Amelia’s mission is to educate residents and visitors about the local bioregion and encourage stewardship of the area’s natural resources through events and programs that educate and entertain while promoting a conservation ethic.
