The Fernandina Beach Market Place on North Seventh Street in historic downtown is very excited to announce that Chef Bill Thompson, of the Amelia Island Culinary Academy, is joining the farmers market Saturday as a weekly vendor. Chef Bill is a former Ritz-Carlton Chef and he taught professional culinary arts for over ten years; he is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. His introductory menu includes hummus dip, pimento cheese dip, baguettes, soups, salad dressings, and paninis. Be sure to stop by his booth and show him a warm, Fernandina welcome.
Sandra and Danny Durrance are back from their JD Beef Farm this week with cuts of beef, pork, and whole chickens. With Christmas just around the corner make sure you place your preorders this week for local, wild caught shrimp by Chesser Seafood, holiday pies from Me, Myself and Pies; and salmon with Upstream Seafood to receive them in time for your Christmas table. You will find gifts for every table among our 40 tents of seasonal produce, nuts, citrus, hot sauces, rubs, dried fruits, infused vinegars, flavored salts, granolas, guacamole, salsas, goat milk and cheeses, and so much more. Ferras Bakery brings fresh baked breads, calzones, garlic sticks, cannoli, bagels, pita, spanakopita, and more, while Great Harvest Bread Company specializes in baking freshly milled loaves of honey whole wheat, Dakota, cinnamon chip, high 5 fiber, and challah. They also bring fresh scones, cookies, and muffins.
Are you looking for the perfect hostess gift? Consider an orchid from Jaxma Orchids or a beautiful poinsettia or Christmas cactus from Seven Trees Nursery. Riverwood Candles has a wonderful assortment of fragrant soy candles with wooden wicks, and Osborne Ranch has goat milk soaps, lotions, sprays, and Fernandina Beach grown loofah.
The Fernandina Beach Arts Market will also be open adjacent to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market for the next two weeks, with an additional 30 vendors displaying their hand crafted and home-made arts and crafts such as fine and whimsical jewelry, wood working, glassware, apparel, framed art, decorated gourds, custom cups and tumblers, stained glass, and much more.

Both markets will be open on December 11th and 18th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine, and your well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join you. There will be no markets open on Christmas or New Year’s Day. For more information, please find us on Facebook.
